Our client, a unique public affairs agency that is breaking through the mould, is seeking a Head of Public Affairs to lead and shape A PA team at the heart of Westminster. This role is key to the 2025 growth plans and beyond.
The ideal candidate will be accountable for delivering projects and campaigns on schedule and to the highest standards, while developing strong client relationships and contributing significantly to the consultancy’s growth and evolution. This role involves overseeing professional client management, developing and executing a comprehensive annual business plan, and leading the recruitment, training, and development of a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities and Competencies:
- Lead and manage a team of five consultants responsible for coordinating Public Liaison Groups (PLGs).
- Expand existing client relationships by cross-selling and upselling services, including outreach through cold calls, email marketing, compelling presentations, and RFP responses.
- Actively network to enhance the visibility, reputation, and influence of the agency among politicians, key stakeholders, potential clients, and referral sources.
- Design and implement integrated public affairs campaigns that drive impact.
- Consistently meet or exceed defined sales targets and performance metrics.
Carry out additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Senior Management Team.
- 7-10 years experience.
- A strong leader capable of shaping and developing a high-performing public affairs team.
- Commercially sharp, with the ability to quickly turn opportunities into new business.
- Client-focused, ideally with solid consultancy experience.
- A seasoned public affairs professional with a proven track record in lobbying.
- Experienced in building and managing a client pipeline focused on UK Government, Devolved Administrations, and the EU.
- Well-connected, with an existing client base and the ability to grow networks for both personal and company benefit.
- Politically astute and comfortable engaging with senior politicians and business leaders.
- Skilled in using digital tools, social media, and technology.
- Self-driven, confident, and trusted within the industry.
- A strong and persuasive communicator.
- Confident in pitching and selling high-value campaigns and lobbying services.
